ECOLOGY, SPECIATION AND AVIAN SPECIES RICHNESS: AN HIMALAYAN PERSPECTIVE

Trevor Price (The University of Chicago) will give a seminar entitled “Ecology, speciation and avian species richness: an Himalayan perspective” on 9h of December, at 14.30, in Campus Agrário de Vairão auditorium.

 

This seminar will be on ecology, speciation and species abundance, centered on the speaker main field system: the passerines of India and the Himalayan region.

 

Trevor Priceis Professor of Biology at The University of Chicago. He works on the causes and consequences of speciation, and has produced seminal theoretical and empirical contributions in the areas of speciation, sexual selection and biogeography. He is one of the leading figures in the field of evolutionary ecology, having received the E.O. Wilson Award of the American Society of Naturalists, and served as editor for Evolution, The American Naturalist and Proceedings B.
